Medium Range Wireless Switch System FAQs
How far can the Medium Range Wireless Switch System communicate?
The system can provide wireless communication at distances up to approximately 2 miles. Actual range depends on terrain, obstructions, antenna placement, and other site conditions.
Does the system require line of sight?
No. The 27 MHz system can operate in non-line-of-sight applications. However, terrain, buildings, trees, and other obstructions can affect range and performance.
Where should the antennas be installed?
For best performance, the antennas should be mounted outdoors and as high as practical, with consideration given to terrain and obstructions between the transmitter and receiver locations.
What can the Medium Range system control?
The system can be used for pumps, valves, motors, conveyors, grain augers, lights, PLC inputs, alarms, and many other applications requiring remote switching.
What type of control inputs does the transmitter accept?
The transmitter provides two dry-contact inputs. Closing an input causes the corresponding receiver relay output to activate.
Can the Medium Range system be used at locations without utility power?
Yes. Solar power kits are available for remote locations where conventional electrical power is not readily available.
