Industry Demands Wireless Data Transmission
Companies in a Wide Variety of Industries are Looking to Send and Monitor Data Without Using Costly Wire
Industries in today’s economy know that efficiency is the key to success. Monitoring and using data-like pressure, flow rates or temperature is one of the ways these companies stay efficient. If you wanted to monitor this type of data from a distance or renovate your current plant in the past, you would need to run large amounts of wire. Shutting down a plant or trenching to lay new wire and repair old wire can be extremely expensive. What’s the answer? Don’t use wire. Information like pressure, flow rate or temperature can be transmitted wirelessly for miles.
As a leading manufacturer of Radio Frequency industrial transmitters and receivers, Remote Control Technology (RCT) has been on the forefront of research in applying wireless data transmission technology to industrial applications. Michael Lien, President of RCT stated that, “We’ve been in the business of designing and manufacturing RF wireless switching devices for over 25 years, and we understand that our customers want to use this kind of technology to become more efficient and save money. Using large amounts of wire or phone line is just too costly.”
For 2007, RCT has released a new product that can wirelessly transmit simple analog data (4 – 20 ma current loop) such as flow rate, pressure or temperature up to 2 miles. RCT Sales Manager Cindy Gladner said, "RCT plans on releasing more products in the near future that will be able to transmit serial RS-232, RS-485 and Ethernet data over similar distances. As the technology grows and industries demand more, RCT will continue to be on the leading edge and provide our customers with quality products that save them time and money."
Headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, Remote Control Technology strives to be the highest quality manufacturer of easy-to-use industrial Radio Frequency (RF) remote control devices. For over 25 years RCT, has excelled at customer service, technical support and expedient response to their customers’ needs. Product satisfaction is guaranteed.
