Government Agencies Want The Benefits of Radio Frequency Wireless Controls Without the Possibility of False Activations

Government agencies have special needs when it comes to wireless remote control systems.  As the price of copper wire increases, many companies are looking to the freedom, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness that wireless control systems can offer.  However, the security of these systems is often called into question.  According to Remote Control Technology, Inc. (RCT) President Michael Lien, when government and military agencies are looking for Radio Frequency remote control devices a main concern is the potential for false activation.

Recently many companies have been realizing the benefits of using wireless devices for remote control, data transmission and automation.  Military and Law Enforcement agencies are no exception, using these types of systems on anything from tactical airfield lighting to remote engine cut-off.

“Our sales to government agencies tripled between 2005 and 2006,” says RCT Sales Manager Cindy Gladner.  “We believe that this has a lot to do with our PDTFM coding system."  RCT uses a proprietary digital FM transmission algorithm, which makes activating a RCT receiver only possible if you are using a RCT transmitter set with the correct codes, effectively making the possibility of false activation zero.

A wireless RF remote control system was recently developed for the U.S Army that uses a unique coding algorithm, which will not be used in any other systems.  According to RCT President Michael Lien, the only possible way for their receivers to be activated is by using the transmitters that were originally developed for that specific system.

RCT will be attending the Government Security Expo and Conference at the Washington D.C. Convention Center May 9-10, 2007.  Stop by their Booth, #1449, for more information.

Headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, Remote Control Technology strives to be the highest quality manufacturer of easy-to-use industrial Radio Frequency (RF) remote control devices.  For over 25 years, RCT has excelled at customer service, technical support and expedient response to their customers’ needs.  Product satisfaction is guaranteed.
